Principal Investigator

Rami Mansour

Rami Mansour is an Assistant Professor at the department of Mechanical and Production Engineering at Aarhus University in Denmark. He is also affiliated as Docent (Associate Professor) at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden.

Rami received the doctoral degree in Solid Mechanics in 2016 from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, with thesis entitled "Reliability Assessment and Probabilistic Optimization in Structural Design" and accomplised his Habilitation at KTH in 2024. Current research includes additive manufacturing, welding, abrasive manufacturing and biocomposites with focus on fatigue and failure of materials as well as data-driven design & manufacturing under uncertainties.

Postdoctoral fellow

Juan Supelveda

Juan Supelveda is a postdoctoral fellow with expertise in reliability assessment methods. He will be developing accurate and efficient methods to assess the impact of disruption on production level based on Discrete-Event Simulations (DES).

Juan received his PhD from Aalborg University in Denmark, with thesis entitled "Advanced and Efficient Probabilistic Response Modeling and Analysis" under the supervision of Prof. M H Faber.

PhD student

Omar Abbadi

Omar Abbadi is an industrial PhD student working in collaboration with Grundfos A/S. He is developing a holistic framework for optimization of the sintering process of rare-earths magnets.

Omar obtained his master's degree in mechanical engineering from Aarhus University, with emphasizes on renewable energy.

PhD student

Qian Zhang

Qian Zhang is PhD student working in collaboration with Scania CV AB. Qian is developing new uncertainty quantification and propagation models as well as efficient algorithms for optimization under uncertainties.

Qian obtained his master's degree in material science from Aachen University, with a strong interest in machine learning.

Casper Aakjær Cornelius

Casper Aakjær Cornelius is a master student in Mechanical Engineering working in collaboration with Stiesdal A/S. During his R&D and master project, he is focusing on numerical analysis of floating Spar Wind Turbines with emphasizes on integrating simulation and design standards to ensure structural integrity.

Casper has a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Aarhus University in 2023, with specialization in product developement and design.

Kevin Nørgaard Bjerg

Kevin Nørgaard Bjerg is a master student in Mechanical Engineering working in collaboration with Stiesdal A/S . In his master thesis, Kevin is developing design strategies against buckling in floating foundation, taking into account the stochastic loading condition and rare-event affecting Flowting Offshore Wind Turbines (FOWT).

Kevin has a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Aarhus University in 2023.

Rene Hamrak

Rene Hamrak is a Master student at Aarhus University, Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering. He is performing his pre-masterproject focusing on thermomechanical simulation of weld solidification cracking. He is a graduated BEng. in Mechanical Engineering from VIA University College in Horsens. He is also a project engineering assistant at Advantis A/S.

Oliver Voss Osmann

Oliver Voss Osmann is a master student in Mechanical Engineering working in collaboration with Grundfos A/S. During his R&D and master project, he is focusing on implementing porous viscoplasticity models into a finite-element simulation model of the sintering process as well as analysing the applicability of different constitutive models.

Oliver received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Aarhus University in 2023 with BSc thesis in Numerical and Experimental Analyses of Continuous Composite Manufacturing.

Rasmus Koch Jakobsen

Rasmus Jakobsen is a Master student in Mechanical Engineering in collaboration with Grundfos A/S. In his master thesis, Rasmus is focusing on developing coupled thermo-electro-mechanical simulation of the sintering process including grain growth predictions as well as collecting experimental data for performance validation.

Rasmus received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Aarhus University in 2023.

Shirley Zonantenaina

Shirley Zonantenaina is an Industrial Engineering student at IMT Atlantique in France. She is performing a 5 month traineeship from May 2025 as a part of her study. She will be focusing on optimization under uncertainties with emphasizes on resilience in production planning.

Milan Vathoopan is a postoctoral fellow at Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Aarhus University. He is working on the developement of digital twins focusing on Manufacturing-as-a-Service (MaaS).

Oliver Helen Bushagour is a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering. She is developing novel analysis methods for integrating resilience and circularity metrics into production planning.

Amira received her master’s degree from Texas A&M with thesis entitled "Biological Ecosystem Inspired Approaches for Circular Economy Design"
